IBS & GASTRO INTESTINAL DISORDERS

Picture
Convention treatments for gastric disorders are diet and the avoidance of any foods that irritate the gastro-intestinal tract and pharmacological intervention as a widely suggested treatment option. Relaxation and stress management is also suggested as an effective treatment as it helps patients control what is going on in their bodies and control their symptoms.

Hypnotherapy is acknowledged as a successful treatment for IBS and related conditions by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).  Hypnosis is extremely in effective in the area of STRESS MANAGEMENT and RELAXATION and general CALMNESS, which in turn brings significant relief to gastric conditions.

All emotion and psychological experiences translates into physiological ones as the body registers the impact of the event. Just how sensitive and responsive to emotion the stomach is can be illustrated in sayings we have about it, such as feeling gutted, gut feelings, butterflies in our stomach or even tummy flips!

Clients are helped by hypnotic therapies to remove the fear of their condition allowing them to realise that they can how control in managing their condition without medication or with reduced medications. The fear of fear can be worse than some of the symptoms and even the anticipation can trigger a flare up. Mental anxiety and the stress of managing the condition and resulting feelings can exacerbate the actual symptoms.
