PHOBIAS & FEARS

Many people suffer from phobias and fears and we are born with two basic fears, the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises which are hard wired into our instinct for self preservation. However as we live our lives some people develop other fears, which can seem irrational and disproportionate to our general approach to life. Common fears include public speaking, fear of flying or driving, claustrophobia or birds, animals and insects.
There may be no apparent reason for these fears but they can control our lives and reactions to these fears bring a Fear of Fear which can be worse than the fear itself. These feeling do not come out of the blue and phobic reactions but due to a physical reaction in the body and a level of psychological stress when stimulated by the phobia. Confronting phobias and acknowledging we have them is the first step to banishing them and putting them into context so that they no longer disturb us.
Hypnotherapy can provide extremely effective help for fears and phobias because the underlying theme of hypnosis is calmness, confidence and relaxation allowing us face up to the fear in a positive and measured way. Through hypnosis you can take yourself back to the time when the phobia/fear first developed and bring into perspective and proportion, and teach yourself, via communication, relaxation and desensitisation learn to respond in a different way to the object of fear or situation and imagine how wonderful would that be!
Apart from hypnosis and regression therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy CBT and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) can be speedy and effective ways to break associations and over fears.
